ABOUT ME

Educational & Developmental Psychologist

Hi, I'm Samantha Povey (she/her), an Educational and Developmental Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. I’ve worked across schools and private practice, and I’m passionate about supporting children and their families with warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based care. At Blooming Psychology, I take a compassionate, trauma-informed and neuroaffirming approach, helping each child feel understood, supported, and able to grow in their own way.

Outside of work, I enjoy baking, yoga, walking my dog, Peppa, and spending time with my family.

OUR SERVICES

We provide comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments and therapeutic support for children and adolescents.

Services

Cognitive Assessments

Our cognitive assessments explore how a child thinks, learns, and processes information. They provide insight into areas such as memory, reasoning, problem-solving, and processing speed. These assessments can help identify strengths, understand areas of difficulty, and guide strategies to support learning and development both at home and at school

Cost: $1,650

ADHD Assessments

Our ADHD assessments look at attention, focus, impulsivity, and regulation. Using a combination of clinical interviews, behaviour rating scales, and cognitive testing, we help identify whether ADHD traits are present and how they may be impacting learning and daily life

All assessments include a cognitive assessment as part of the process.
Cost: $1,980

Services

Autism Assessments

Our autism assessments explore how a child experiences and engages with the world, helping to understand social communication, sensory needs, and behaviour. We use neuroaffirming practices to provide clarity, support, and recommendations tailored to each child

All assessments include a cognitive assessment as part of the process.
Cost: $2,310

Want to explore ADHD too? Add an ADHD assessment for $330. Total: $2,640

Educational Assessments

Our educational assessments explore a child’s learning profile, including strengths and difficulties in reading, writing, spelling, and mathematics. They help identify specific learning disorders (like dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia) and guide targeted supports to help your child succeed at school

All assessments include a cognitive assessment as part of the process.
Cost: $2,310

Want to explore ADHD too? Add an ADHD assessment for $330. Total: $2,640

School Consultation

Our school consultation service supports collaboration between families, educators, and psychologists to promote a child’s learning and wellbeing. We provide guidance around behavioural, emotional, or learning concerns and help schools implement effective, evidence-based supports.

Cost: $220 per 50-minute session (includes written summary if required)

Supervision

Supervision is available for provisional, early career, and educational and developmental registrar psychologists, including those working in schools or assessment settings. Sessions are reflective, supportive, and practical, grounded in neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and developmentally sensitive practice.

Cost: $180 per 50-minute session

Therapy

We offer neuroaffirming, evidence-based therapy for children and adolescents to support emotional wellbeing, executive functioning, social skills, and identity. Sessions are tailored to each young person’s needs, with guidance for parents and caregivers where helpful.
